Carnival squibbing is cancelled

THE squibbing spectacular has been cancelled in Bridgwater this evening after major incidents in the area.

Fire appliances in the area have been called to a major motorway pile-up and the collapse of the River Parrett at West Quay.

As a result of the emergency call-outs, no firefighters will be available for the squibbing.

As a result, the 150-man firework event has been called off.

Have heard there are people kicking off because off this event being cancelled. Yes it's a dissapointment but we need to think of the families who are involved in this pile up. They need the fire service more.

It is disappointing but there are far more important things to be concerned about. My thoughts are with the families caught up in the M5 crash and the people of West Quay who must be very worried and wondering what will happen with the next tide.

What on earth's happening? A car crash in Bath Rd yesterday, a fatal one in Bristol Rd today, the collapse of the wall, the terrible M5 crash.....when will all this end?
