CARNIVAL: Just hours to go...

THERE are just hours to go before Bridgwater Carnival hits the town’s streets in a blaze of colour, light and creativity.

After a host of entertainment in the town centre on this afternoon, the long-awaited illuminated procession will finally bring to life the work of hundreds of Carnival club members.

Bursting with excitement and activity, around 150,000 people are expected to head to Bridgwater today to see glowing carts and animated walkers make their way around the circuit, before the evening ends with the spectacular squibbing display.

In Tuesday's edition we will have a picture special featuring the best of this year’s Carnival action and round-up of events.
