AN art exhibition has raised more than £3,000 for a group aiming to ensure that two beauty spots stay in public hands.

The Friends of Quantock want to buy Thorncombe Hill and Over Stowey Custom Common from Somerset County Council.

The group has benefited from artist Gaye Fox’s exhibition in Kingston and will also receive proceeds of a new book, The Quantocks, by Professor Peter Haggett.
