A TEENAGER has put his golfing talents to good use to raise money for a close family friend who is suffering from leukaemia.

Jack Dray, 15, played a whopping 54 holes at Enmore Golf Club yesterday (October 14) in the hope that people will sponsor Luke Buckingham’s fundraiser ‘Luke’s Leukaemia Sideline’.

Luke, 27, was heavily involved in sport at Bridgwater College and managed Bridgwater Town Reserves last season before he was diagnosed with leukaemia for a second time.

Speaking to the Mercury after his latest treatment in Bristol, Luke said: “Throughout this process I’ve been amazed by the support we have received and Jack’s golf marathon is an amazing gesture towards a cause that is very close to me.”

Jack said: “This challenge is to raise some awareness about Luke and it is very close to my family and hundreds of others.”

Luke’s fundraising, included Sunday’s golf challenge, has raised £2,700. To donate, click here.
