DETECTIVES investigating the murder of Catherine Wells-Burr are appealing for information following reports of someone spotted at the scene of her death.

Police have been told a figure was seen at the site of the car fire, which was set in a lane off the A358 near Ashill in Ilminster earlier this month.

Catherine's body was found inside the car on the morning of September 12. Detective Chief Inspector Simon Crisp, who is leading the investigation, said: "I am extremely keen to speak to anyone who saw a person at the site of the car fire in which we discovered Catherine's body.

"This person was in the area before the fire was lit, and was seen to then walk along the left hand verge towards Taunton immediately after.

"It is imperative that we speak to anyone who saw this person, before or after the fire, or if you are that person please come forward and speak to us."

Rafal Nowak and Anna Julia Lagwinowicz have both been charged with conspiracy to murder and remanded into custody.

Today (September 27) Nowak applied for bail, which was refused. Both will appear at Bristol Crown Court on October 9.

Another 38 year old man remains on police bail. Anyone with information is asked to call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800-555111.
