SOMETHING fishy is going on with the post at Sedgemoor District Council.

Staff checked the mail to find someone had shoved fish guts through the letter box last night.

A spokesman for Sedgemoor District Council told the Mercury: “My understanding is that a single headless trout was posted through the box about a month ago, followed by another five gutted mackerel last night.

“We have no idea what it’s about as there have been no messages left, just the fish.

“Occasionally we will have something odd posted but this just is a waste of good fish.”

The council is going through CCTV footage in an effort to identify the slippery culprit.

Probably a "fisherman" disgruntled at being stopped from "fishing" somewhere he isn't allowed to anyway.

its probably a poor old COD-ger like me who is fed up with paying council tax for very little in return for their money, ie empty smelly wheely bin once a fortnight, bus pass, but i do have a working street light near my house.
. i expect that the next target will be the water rates offices who are running a close 2nd to the council tax.
