THESE baby dormice are lucky to be alive thanks to the sharp ears of animal lovers and the caring experts at a Sedgemoor wildlife centre.
Neighbours Geoff Brown and Jen Bousfield of Middlewood, near Bodmin Moor, took the cute little creatures all the way to Secret World Wildlife Rescue at Highbridge after finding them orphaned.
Jen found six orphans with their dead mother after Geoff heard noises coming from her side of the beech hedge separating their gardens.
Three of the babies died on the two-hour journey but the remaining three – two of which are pictured here– are doing well at Secret World on a diet of honeysuckle, blackberries and chopped nuts.
