A MOTORIST who had to pay £140 to get home after her breakdown firm refused to pick her up has been given a refund.

The Mercury reported in July how Suzanne Downey was stuck in north Devon in the early hours after driving her Peugeot through floodwater.

The RAC said it did not attend flood incidents and Suzanne, of Nether Stowey, had to pay her car insurers, the AA, to get home.

The RAC has now paid her £142.93 and Suzanne said: “I'm relieved it's all over.”
