SKATEBOARDERS and BMXers are being asked where they think a new skate park should be built in Bridgwater.
Sedgemoor District Council is hoping to build the park, known as a wheeled sports facility, for people in the town.
It is holding a public meeting on Wednesday, September 12, to allow people to air their views on where it should go.
Teresa Harvey, from the council, said: “We know young people have views on this subject and we want to hear them. Don’t let this chance pass you by.”
The meeting will start with a presentation featuring up to five possible sites, which will be followed by a question and answer session.
A vote will then be taken – using electronic equipment – to monitor the views of those attending.
Following the meeting the council will settle on a location which it will investigate further.
Earlier this year officials at the YMCA building in Bridgwater expressed an interest in the skate park being sited there and released an artists’ impression.
It is understood the YMCA site will be one of those considered at next week’s meeting.
Ms Harvey added: “We encourage people to come along and make sure this facility is shaped by its users.”
The meeting will take place at 5.30pm at Trinity Hall in St Saviour’s Avenue, Bridgwater.
