LIAM Phillips' Olympic dream is over after the Burnham rider crashed in the final of this afternoon's (August 10) BMX race.
Liam made a strong start and was in bronze medal position but then a fall took him out of contention.
The gold medal was won by Latvia's Maris Strombergs.
Liam, who qualified for the final after achieving second, third and fourth-placed finishes in the three-race semi-final earlier this afternoon, said he was bitterly disappointed, but hailed the incredible reaction he and fellow GB rider Shanaze Reade received from the crowd.
He admitted his attention has already turned to the 2016 Olympics in Brazil.
I'm already thinking about Rio. I thought my BMX days were over but I am back," he added.
