Probe into proposed Bridgwater eco-park Probe into proposed Bridgwater eco-park

A PUBLIC meeting to discuss the proposed Bridgwater eco-park development known as The Meads will be held on Wednesday, August 8.

The meeting, in Bridgwater House, runs from 3pm to 5pm, giving residents the chance to find out more about the proposed development.

It will be followed at 5.30pm by a special council meeting when the Supplementary Planning Document will be adopted or rejected by Sedgemoor District Council.

If this large project gets the thumbs-up, there is a lot of work to be done on this ground. Who gets the contract - the firm who gives the best quote, or the firm who offers the largest backhander for the contact?

I hope lots of people attend the meeting to hear what the implications for housing development and a road across the Fair field are. After all, the fields earmarked for the ecopark are owned principally by the developer and I don't see them handing them over out of the goodness of their hearts....
