A MURDER inquiry is under way following the death of businessman Mike Bithery in Bridgwater.
Police confirmed on Saturday afternoon that Mr Bithery's death is being treated as murder.
Mr Bithery, 72, died following an altercation with another man on Thursday morning at an address in Chilton Street.
He was flown to Musgrove Park Hospital in Taunton but later died. A post-mortem has confirmed the death was the result of a stab wound.
A man in his 80s has been arrested on suspicion of murder and remains in police custody.
Witnesses should call police on 101.
