A MAN was hit over the head with a bottle of cider during an assault in Bridgwater.

The incident happened at 4am on June 16 on York Road.

The victim was walking home when was approached by a white man in his early 20s, who was 6ft, of slim build and with short, light hair and dark clothes.

The attacker said ‘give me your stuff’ and when the victim refused he was hit over the head with a large brown cider bottle. He received several blows to his head.

Anyone with any information on this incident should call police on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800-555-111.

Just want to say, the photograph used in this is atrocious. Not to mention the headline. Pretty certain it was the bottle that did the damage, not the liquid itself.

They've obviously noticed my original comment and decided to change the headline to inform everyone that it was indeed the bottle, and not the liquid, that did the damage, but left the caption under the photo as per the orginal headline...
