A FUNDRAISING evening is being held in memory of a Bridgwater woman who died unexpectedly aged 39.

Brymore School kitchen assistant Jane Bone collapsed in her classroom and died two days later on June 16, 2011.

Now her family are raising funds for Musgrove Park Hospital’s Intensive Care Unit in Taunton, which cared for her in her final days.

The event will be held at the Globe Inn, Cannington, at 6.30pm on Saturday, June 16 – a year ago after she died.

Jane’s sister-in-law, Joanne, said: “When Jane was taken poorly it was the ICU which cared for her and where she spent her last 24 hours.

“They were absolutely fantastic with all the family and you couldn’t have asked for kinder people.”

The family raised £1,600 at Jane’s funeral, split between the Dorset & Somerset Air Ambulance and the ICU, and they hope to hold annual fundraising events in aid of the charities.

The Globe Inn fundraiser will include skittles, raffles and an auction.

Tickets will be sold on the night at £1 a strip and it costs £5 to take part in the skittles night.

Jane is survived by her childhood sweetheart, Daniel, 41, and their three children, Louise, 19, Nicola, 17, and Alex, 12.
