A CHARITY in Bridgwater has put out a desperate appeal for help in finding a home for 20,000 books after it lost its premises.

The Books for Life organisation has had to give up its store in Eastover after the landlord said they needed the property.

Trustee Mervyn Todd said he has one month to find a place to store the books, as well as videos and records in the store, and hopes a local business can help.

He said: “We’ve been in the same place for 3½ years, but we’ve had notice to quit and we’ve been given a month, with a slight extension, to move.

“Our crisis right now is finding somewhere to store the items – we need space to store the stock, even if it’s just a corner.”

Any storage place should be dry and between four hundred and six hundred square feet.

Once in place the stock will be sold online or moved to new premises when they are found.

Books for Life raises money for deaf, abandoned, orphaned and abused children.

Anyone who can help is urged to call Mr Todd on 07503-475861.
