CHILDREN from Enmore Primary School enjoyed a picnic and planted a conker tree for the Jubilee.

Head teacher Duncan MacRea and students helped class teacher Lorna Evans plant the Horse Chesnut tree, which she had grown from a sapling to mark the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

Mr MacRea said: “The trees are under threat and we hope in years to come some of the children’s children will be able to play with the conkers.

“They all dressed in red, white and blue and brought in food for a picnic on the field.

“We watched footage of the Queen’s Coronation and they were amazed to see clips of her life.”

The PTA also bought Jubilee coins for all the children as a keepsake for the special occasion.
