STUDENTS from Sedgemoor Manor Junior School have been celebrating the Jubilee as it coincides with the school's 60th anniversary.
The school was opened in February 1952, the same month the Queen came to the throne.
Flags have been hung in the main hall, Jubilee plates were designed and a board proudly displays memories of the school's past.
Chris Burman, deputy head, said: “The children are really excited. I think the school being the same age as the jubilee has really made a connection with them.
“In September we will be becoming an academy school and will reach the end of an era.”
The children have taken part in a selection of Jubilee activities, along with those celebrating the school's past.
A masked disco was held after finding an entry describing one in a head teacher's diary from 1983. The children have also been drawing Jubilee plates and the winning design will be made into a real plate.
