A HOUSE builder in Bridgwater has sponsored a North Petherton Scout Group £1,000 to buy new tents.
Redrow donated the cash for five tents to 1st North Petherton Scout Group, which will mean 20 scouts can attend the Scout Fest annual camp event in June.
Richard Brown, scout group chairman, said: “The group continually strives to fund raise for our needs, but Redrow’s donation was a real bonus and most welcome.
“We would like to express our sincere thanks for the wonderful donation that Redrow South-West has made. They should be really proud of the gift they have made and of the impact it will have on the lives of young people.”
The whole group can now enjoy the outdoor festivities at the county-wide celebration of scouting. This year’s event will celebrate the Queen’s Jubilee, with over 4,000 scouts enjoying a range of activities, experiences and fellowship.
Alison Forster, area sales manager for Redrow (South-West), said: “Scouting makes a positive contribution to society by helping young people develop as active members of the community who are self reliant, caring and responsible.
“This is an absolutely brilliant cause and one which we are delighted to have been able to support.”
