WHEN Mary Tyler was born, the start of the First World War was still a decade away.
Last week the pensioner celebrated her 108th birthday at Oak Trees Care Home in Bridgwater – and put her long life down to ‘a good cup of tea’.
Mary, who was born Gladys Tyler on May 6, 1904, celebrated the occasion with a tea party with her family and received lots of cards, including one from the Queen.
The home celebrated Mary’s milestone with a party the day after her birthday and presented her with a bouquet of flowers.
