Hinkley workforce have the energy for fundraising
STAFF at Hinkley Point A have raised more than £7,000 for Somerset Cancer Care.
Site contractors, staff and visitors at Hinkley A have taken part in fun runs, cake bakes, book sales, photography competitions and produced and sold their 2012 calendar in support of the charity.
Sue Hasler of Somerset Cancer Care said: “Hinkley A have proven themselves to be an amazingly generous workforce.
“The £7,370 they have raised will make a significant difference to the charity and will make it possible for us to expand our support for those affected by cancer in local communities.”
Sue was delighted to make a return visit to Hinkley A last week to accept the cheque.
She added: “I’d like to express my gratitude to Magnox South; Brian Hughes, site director, the Charity Fundraising Committee and all the staff and site contractors at Hinkley A for their wonderful support of Somerset Cancer Care throughout the year.”
Somerset Cancer Care provides emotional support, information and complementary therapies for anyone facing the challenges of living with cancer.
