A KING-SIZE bed was auctioned at a medieval ball to raise funds for Bridgwater Hospital League of Friends.
The bed, donated by Relyon, of Wellington, raised £425.
Andrew Lees, of Andrew Lees Lettings in High Street, Bridgwater, matched the amount, bringing it to a total of £850.
The League thanked Relyon and Mr Lee for their support and said the funds would help fund new equipment.
The League feels that with the new hospital “on the horizon” new equipment will be essential and the Primary Care Trust will not have funds for all the requirements.
