LIBRARY users in Bridgwater are being invited to take part in a county-wide survey of the service this month.

The Public Library Users Survey, PLUS, will be carried out in all the county's libraries, static and mobile, during the week beginning Monday, April 23.

The nationally recognised survey asks what library users think of the service, how satisfied they are with its different aspects, and some questions about the users themselves.

Information gathered will be used to help the Council shape the future of the Library Service, currently being reviewed along with all the Council’s services.

Councillor Christine Lawrence, Cabinet member for Community Services, said: “It’s important that we hear in detail what our library users think about the service so we can take their views into account as we plan for the future.

“Our aim is always to deliver the best possible service within the resources we have.”

Library users will be asked by library staff and volunteers to complete the short questionnaire. The survey will also be seeking the views of under 16s, so parents should be aware that their children may be asked by staff to take part.
