Bridgwater College will introduce a new travel subsidy in September - which means no full-time student will have to pay more than £300 a year to travel by bus to the site.
The move is hoped to save some students travelling by bus at least £200 a year each.
Vice-Principal Mike Robbins said: “We're very aware that the cost of travel can have a negative impact on a student's choice of where to study, so we're aiming to remove one of the possible barriers to high quality education. No student will pay more than £300, subject to prices not being increased significantly or other County Council subsidies not being withdrawn. Either way it will be a major saving for students.”
The college and was one of the first to introduce a travel bursary scheme which over 400 students benefitted from last year.
