BRENT Knoll Primary School is celebrating a glowing Ofsted report in its 150th anniversary year.

Inspectors have judged the village school “good” with “outstanding features” following a visit in May.

The school was praised for its excellent links with parents and carers and its stimulating range of extra-curricular clubs.

Inspectors described it as a “caring and inclusive community” and noted improvements in teaching and learning since their last visit.

Karen Davidson, head teacher, said: “We're all delighted with the outcome of this inspection as it recognises the many strengths of our school.

“The inspectors were quick to pick up on the very good relationships between everyone associated with the school and my thanks go to pupils, parents, staff, governors and members of the local community for their ongoing support.”

Hugh Mackay, chair of governors, added: “This is great news and is the result of a tremendous team effort at our school.

“We will aim to achieve an outstanding assessment at the next Ofsted inspection.”

Staff, parents and children are looking forward to hosting the school's 150th anniversary tea party next Saturday (June 11) from 2pm at the village hall where there will be a display of artefacts from its history.
