SPORT, politics, theatre – pupils at St John and St Francis Primary School in Bridgwater are excelling in all of them.

The past year has proved incredibly successful for the school, and here are just a few of their achievements: Bridgwater Mercury: music1 Bridgwater Mercury: music2 *Musicals, plays and concerts have been staged and the school won the Sing Up gold award.

Bridgwater Mercury: gymnasts GYMNASTS Madison Taylor and Grace Williams are in the picture - they finished third in a gymnastics competition.

Bridgwater Mercury: cross country TILLY Milburn, Lewis Ateyo and Demi Webber with their cross country medals.

*Runner Lewis Ateyo won gold, while Demi Webber and Tully Milburn picked up silver and bronze in a cross country event and the athletics team scooped first place in the Local Cluster Schools Indoor Festival.

Bridgwater Mercury: netball *The unbeaten netball team won the East Bridgwater Schools cluster tournament and the Bridgwater local league.

Bridgwater Mercury: football *The boy’s football team have won the Cluster Championship and the Pritchard Sedgemoor and Mendip Cup.

Bridgwater Mercury: rugby *The tag rubgy team won the Cluster Schools Tournament.

Bridgwater Mercury: basketball DANIEL Biddiscombe, Kieran Newton and Harry Sheehan from the basketball team won the Somerset Schools 3x3 tournament.

Bridgwater Mercury: parliament KYRA Moule, Luke Fella, Izzie Draper, and Jordan Onslow from the parliament team which was victorious in the Somerset Schools Children’s Parliament and has been invited to the Houses of Parliament.
