Bridgwater College overcame strong competition to progress from the preliminary round of a public speaking competition.
The Youth Speaks competition has been organised by rotary clubs throughout the UK and Bridgwater and Sedgemoor rotary clubs linked up to hold the preliminary stage in Bridgwater College's lecture theatre.
The winning Bridgwater College team consisted by chairman Leanne Baker, speaker Aidan Peppin and proposer Annie Whitcombe.
They now go onto the western area semi-final, which will be held at Huish Episcopi School in Langport on February 17.
