Robert Blake Science College students have been planting flowers after receiving a donation from a garden centre.
Monkton Elm Garden & Pet Centre gave the school 200 crocus corms.
Shelly Staple, environmental science technician, said: “We are very keen gardeners at the school and take pride in growing lots of vegetables and flowers in our grounds and the environmental area, so these corms will make a great addition.”
Monkton Elm Garden & Pet Centre invited anyone who felt that their school deserved the crocus to get in touch earlier this autumn.
Norma Moore, general manager at the garden centre, said: “We hope Robert Blake Science College plants the crocus in groups somewhere in its grounds to create a marvellous show in the spring.”
