A GROUP of Bridgwater primary school pupils entertained 90,000 rugby fans at Wembley Stadium.

The 26 youngsters aged from seven to 11 put on the opening entertainment for the Carnegie Challenge Cup final – one of the most prestigious matches in club rugby.

Claire Taylor, event organiser and Robert Blake Science College dance teacher, said: “The pupils were very excited and hand a brilliant day. This was a fantastic opportunity for such young children.” Some of the pupils from St John and St Francis, Eastover, Puriton, North Petherton and St Andrews schools who took part described the experience as ‘the best day ever’ and a ‘dream come true’.

The trip was made possible by the Children’s University and Pro-Excel.
