THREE talented Sedgemoor drivers have scooped prizes in a competition to find Somerset's champion young driver.
Shop assistant Rebecca Cooksley and apprentice joiner Adam Salter, both 19 and from Bridgwater, and 22-year-old personal trainer Rich Hill, from Cannington, were among ten drivers to reach the final of the Max Control competition.
The competition was devised by the Somerset Road Safety Partnership campaign, which aims to reduce the number of young people killed and injured on roads.
Drivers gained credits for taking part in a number of challenges, including driving on a skid pan, go-karting, off-roading and advanced driving assessments.
Dick Bowen, manager of the Somerset Road Safety Partnership, said: “I congratulate Rebecca, Adam and Rich. Reaching the final of this competition, which was entered by hundreds of young drivers, was a considerable achievement.”
