HOMES in Sedgemoor has raised £120 for the Stroke Association by knitting teddies for children around the world.
Staff and people living in the authority's sheltered houses knitted 282 teddies as part of the Teddies for Tragedies scheme and raised money for the Stroke Association through sponsorship.
The scheme was set up in 1986 after doctors at a refugee camp found adding teddies to a consignment of medicine had a positive effect on the children and aided their recovery.
Diana Baker, a supported housing resident, knitted 24 teddies. She said: “I've enjoyed taking part in the initiative very much.
“It's been enjoyable and it is great to be doing something for the children.”
