Enmore School welcomes special visitor

ENMORE School welcomed a special visitor to celebrate its 200th anniversary.

Former pupil Beryl Hawkins, 87, returned to the school she attended from 1927 to 1936 before leaving to start work at the age of 14.

She was born in the Enmore Inn, walked to school every day and has lived in the village all her life.

The older children asked her questions about the school and her life and Beryl met with the youngest pupil before being presented with a commemorative coin.

The school is keen to make contact with any older ex-pupils and would love to hear their memories and stories.
