BRIDGWATER threw itself into party mode in November when the town's annual carnival lit up the street in an amazing display of illuminated floats and creative entries. People from all over the country flocked to the route as Bridgwater clubs provided hours of dazzling entertainment.

BRIDGWATER man Graham Knight was left shocked, surprised and angry when a report revealed a safety review into the Nimrod plane his son died in was “a lamentable job from start to finish” and was “riddled with errors”. Sgt Ben Knight and 13 others died when their plane exploded in September 2006.

POLICE officers, bailiffs and council officers swooped to evict ten squatters from the former Federal Mogul building in Bridgwater after months of concern for people living near the Colley Lane factory.

SEDGEMOOR honoured the fallen heroes of war with remembrance services in Bridgwater with two minutes of silence and processions. Dignitaries gathered in King's Square to lay wreaths before a service was held in St Mary's Church.

RAGING storms battered Sedgemoor in November, resulting in a lucky escape for Cannington couple Paul and Veronica Sinclair when part of their roof and chimneystack was ripped from above their heads. Paul said: “I've never known a wind like it.”

BULLDOZERS pulled into Northgate in November to start pulling down the Splash, and it was not long before the familiar site of the flumes and landmark building was turned into a pile of rubble. A mural was saved from the wreckage and was resurrected in Angel Place.
