THE trial begins today of a former police inspector charged over the deaths of a Bridgwater father and daughter.
Andrew Dyer, 41, and daughter Gabriella, 10, from Church Path, were killed in a car crash in the Dordogne, France, in 2006.
Driver Keith Bridges will appear at the Bergerac Courts of Justice in Place du Palais, France, charged with their involuntary manslaughter as well as that of his wife Julie and her daughter Bethany, who also died in the crash.
The Mercury has reported how Andrew Dyer's widow Tracey, who survived the crash with children Charlotte and Kieran, plans to give evidence on Mr Bridges behalf at the trial.
