THE protesters occupying the Splash say they have rejected an offer to keep the pool open for a further seven days.
Labour district councillor Brian Smedley told the Mercury Sedgemoor District Council’s acting chief executive Bob Brown visited the pool today, where a sit-in protest is taking place, and offered a stay of execution.
But Cllr Smedley said the offer was swiftly rejected.
Earlier he told the Mercury: “This is a peaceful protest and will continue until Sedgemoor District Council gives us a response and the assurance that the facility will not be demolished.”
