A CHARITY for brain-injured children now has a new sensory garden thanks to the efforts of a group of young people in Bridgwater.
An 11-strong team following the Prince's Trust scheme at Bridgwater College decided to support Puriton-based charity bibic by designing and creating the garden in just two weeks.
To make the project even more challenging, it coincided with the hottest and wettest part of the year.
Team leader Sue Walker said: “In a very short space of time, they created sensory plant and flower beds, planted a herb garden, established path ways and put up picnic benches.
“They even managed to exceed the brief by building a pond, complete with fish!”
To raise the money the team set about collecting donations from people in Bridgwater and took part in a 120-foot abseil down a viaduct.
The team thanked all the local companies that supported them and helped make the project a reality.
