Pavements to get steam clean

PAVEMENTS in Bridgwater town centre are to get their twice-yearly wash and brush up this week.

Sedgemoor District Council’s Clean Surroundings contractors, Powerclean, will be using high pressure steam machines to get rid of chewing gum, bird faeces and other stains and dirt from St Mary Street, Fore Street, Cornhill and the High Street.

The seagulls will be out in force this week to ensure the pavements are back to normal as soon as they've been cleaned.
