More than 300 noise complaints in Sedgemoor


SEDGEMOOR District Council received 306 complaints about noise from private homes in the last year.

There were 1,339 complaints across Somerset’s five districts, with Sedgemoor third on the list.

Hans Schreuder, managing director of insulation firm Rockwool, which got the results from Freedom of Information requests, said: “Noise pollution is a key concern for residents in Somerset.”

And do SDC do anything about these complaints or even care?

I think blackknight is probably correct why do the the present generation have to have their music so loud boomboom base and then you have the domestic noise again loud music is the norm but it can be torture to the neighbours who have to live with it whats the answer to this problem it can be torture for some older people

Try complaing as this is what you will get ...

You have to keep a log of all incidents for 3 minths...yees 3 months !! Then if SDC decide to take action or prosecute it will be registered against your proerty that you have a dispute with neighbours - this may well affect selling price if you decide to move at any point. I have had problems in the past which went on for 6 minths. 5 Police call outs when it was 4 in the morning and out of control, then told to keep a flamin' diary for another 3. Ended up having a "strong word" in their shell like and never heard a peep again...LOL
