A GROUP of ladies from Bridgwater will be flashing the flesh when they embark on a 13-mile power walk for a cancer charity.
The gutsy group of eight, all aged between 19 and 34, plan on wearing only their bras and shorts when they take part in the Bristol Sunwalk event at Ashton Court on Sunday, July 5.
The event is being held to raise money for Breast Cancer Research and the Bridgwater ladies are preparing for the half marathon challenge.
One of the walkers taking part, Sherryl Clapp, told the Mercury the girls decided to get involved because some of them have been directly affected by the disease.
She said: “I took part in the Sunwalk in 2007 and it was a wonderful event to be a part of, well organised, lots of fun and obviously for a very good cause, and so I asked a few more friends whether they would like to take part this year, and they did.
“Our ages vary and training for the event has been fantastic fun as it's a great way to get fit, get some fresh air into our lungs on a regular basis and also raise money for a worthy cause.”
Joining Sherryl will be Shelley Smith, Claire Perrett, Emma Marsh, Lucy Farkas, Lucy Savage, Leanne Biddiscombe and Cher Palmer.
Going under the team name, the 'Bridgwater Bushwhackers', the ladies have opted for an Australian theme for the day and will be donning camouflage attire decorated with snakes and spiders thanks to their friend Lynne Farkas.
They hope to raise about £2,500 through sponsorship.
