THREE Woolavington postal workers are this morning staging a protest against Royal Mail.
Nick Lock, Janet Cox and Dave Chapple (pictured) are braving the cold in a bid to make the postal company change its mind over the proposed closure of the village sorting office.
The trio have been on strike since 6am with the planned walk-out set to continue until the same time next Monday.
Communication Workers Union representative Dave Wilshire said: “Royal Mail should be aware this protest strike may be small but it is justified and deadly serious.”
The workers believe the office, described as a ‘wooden shed’, should be replaced with a new office nearby, but Royal Mail insists it will be closed and the three will be moved to either Bridgwater or Burnham.
