ROCK fans are counting down the days before the eagerly anticipated visit of a ferocious heavy-metal outfit to the Bridgwater Arts Centre on May 15.
Cloven Hoof, who have been performing since 1979 in venues worldwide, are preparing to rock Bridgwater into a frenzy.
The gig at the Arts Centre will be their first performance as a five-piece after recruiting a second guitarist and they will be celebrating the release of their new album The Definitive Part One.
Lead vocalist Russ North took time out from the band's busy schedule to discuss the forthcoming gig with the Mercury.
He told us: "We are really looking forward to showcasing our material in Bridgwater.
"We have a huge fan base who really lap up our music. I am sure our gig at the Arts Centre will be no different.
"The heavy metal market in the UK is not currently in the mainstream but there is a huge amount of fans across the country who are still into this genre of music."
Cloven Hoof's material features in a host of top ten heavy metal albums lists from various music publications and their live performances have earned them a big following in Europe and even Japan.
When asked what the people of Bridgwater can expect, Russ added: "Cloven Hoof are very similar to Iron Maiden, Judas Priest and the raw metal of Metallica, so you can guarantee we will rock the night away."
Tickets are priced at £8.50 or £10 from the door and are available from the Arts Centre box office on 01278-422700.
