Acquisition to bring Bridgwater jobs

NEW job opportunities will soon be offered in Bridgwater after an acquisition in the town offered scope for expansion.

After being bought by a leading software company, Belmin Group on Castle Street has spoken to the Mercury about the benefits the move will bring.

Richard Price, managing director, said: "We think it is good for Bridgwater because we can see, in 12 or 18 months, new jobs being made available."

Although unable to commit to a number at this early stage, the company currently has around 19 employees in premises that could hold up to 45.

The acquisition of Belmin by leading software company COA Solutions Ltd will bring further benefits to the company.

Established in 1987, Belmin's software is currently used by 100,000 users across a range of public sector organisations including hospitals and trusts in the NHS.

The move has opened the prospect of expanding into corporate services, use new technology and develop further products, which will benefit both clients and staff.

Richard said: "This acquisition is great news for Belmin staff who will gain from being part of the financially secure COA Solutions group.

"Staff will also be provided with excellent opportunities for advancement within COA Solutions.

"Existing and prospective Belmin customers will benefit from COA Solutions' in-depth knowledge and understanding of the UK business software market and UK services sector."

Belmin will also gain from the company's commitment to further developing the Belmin products and growing the business.

Mark Thompson, COA Solutions' managing director said: "We're very pleased to be welcoming the Belmin team onboard.

"COA Solutions can now benefit from Belmin's best of breed procurement solutions together with the staff's extensive knowledge and experience of both eProcurement and the healthcare sector."
