LIGHT-fingered thieves with a green-fingered nature have been targeting flower beds around Bridgwater, and helping themselves to recently-planted flowers.
Sedgemoor District Council workers have been busy planting hundreds of the winter blooms, only to find they swiftly disappear from the Rope Walk area and other beds around the town.
Cllr Stuart Kingham, portfolio holder for Environmental Health and Clean Surroundings, said: "It is such a shame that these flowers have been stolen.
"We work hard to bring a bit of cheer through designed and colour related planting and it is the actions of a minority who spoil things for the majority.
"We have CCTV cameras on the areas which have been targeted and will be keeping a very watchful eye on these areas to try and stop these thefts."
