THERE was a great turnout at the relaunch of the Kings Down Pavilion on Friday night.
The hall itself is owned by Sedgemoor District Council and has been run by the YMCA but it has always been the intention that Bridgwater Without Parish Council would take over the running of the hall.
On Saturday, September 1, the official handover was complete and on Friday, September 14, a party was held to celebrate and ‘relaunch’ the hall complete with a delicious hog roast and excellent entertainment provided by Krazy Kev and Dinky the dinosaur with magic tricks and jokes enthralling the children and making their parents laugh too.
Robbie Davies, chairman of Bridgwater Without Parish Council, said: “We really want this to become a hub for residents of all ages to enjoy and improve community cohesion.
“We are hoping to make the most of the excellent football pitches available here and set up a youth team, and we want to see the hall in use for all sorts of classes such as tai chi or yoga, or karate for the youngsters.”
