BRIDGWATER was awash with colour and entertainment for the Quayside Festival 2018.

There was entertainment every way you turned whether it was walking trees, pirates, sea shanties, Punch and Judy or circus acrobatics.

Blake Gardens was a hive of activity with brilliant live music playing from the bandstand, archery lessons, a pliosaur cinema, willow workshops, a maypole and much, much more.

Watchet Town Crier David Milton - who was on double duty also performing Mr Mommet's Punch and Judy Show - said it was 'a fantastic event, brilliantly organised by Sally Mann'.

Bridgwater Library also proved popular with its juggling activities.

Natalie Modrzynski from Bridgwater Library said: "We were prepared for about 600 children to come and make their own juggling balls - we ran out initially at 2pm and had to improvise to meet demand!

"It has been really good, the kids love it," she said.

Fore Street saw some amazing live theatre with the Monkey Business performance by the Blake Statue a particular highlight.

There were also history walks, a wide variety of delicious food and drink on offer, a specially made short film being shown at The Engine Room, and plenty of live music to enjoy.
