SOME dogs will eat anything, but Ryder the Dobermann took that to a new level in 1988 - after he swallowed a baseball!
Ryder, owned by John Dommett, of Bawdrip, went lame after a walk in countryside near Bridgwater and Mr Dommett could not work out what was wrong.
Initially, it was put down to arthritis, before a faith healer tried to help, all with no success.
And it was only after an operation that the cause of the discomfort - the ball - was discovered and Ryder was soon back to full health.
