A FIVE month road closure is expected to cause delays for motorists in Bridgwater.
Wessex Water will be carrying out sewerage works which will affect the area from Queenswood Road to Oakfield Road, and will last from Monday, July 16 until November 23.
In addition, the road will be partially closed in lower Durleigh Road for the long awaited installation of a pedestrian crossing near Haygrove School.
This is planned to start on Monday, July 23 and is expected to last four weeks.
Councillors Rachael Lilley and Gill Slocombe said: “We would like reassure residents that we have been in full meetings with Wessex Water and the advice given will be to try and avoid Durleigh Road as much as possible and use an alternative route.
