THREE people have been taken to hospital after a crash in the early hours of the morning.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue engines from Bridgwater, Burnham-on-Sea and Taunton were called to reports of a two-vehicle crash outside Somerset Care Sedgemoor Community Services, Bath Road, at 1.20am this morning (June 25).
Two people needed to be cut from their cars and were then taken to hospital.
Southwestern Ambulance Service has confirmed a further patient was also taken to hospital.
A spokesman for the fire service said: "On arrival crews confirmed the incident involved two vehicles with two persons still inside.
"Crews got to work stabilising the vehicles while liaising with paramedics to form a rescue plan.
"The door of one car was removed using hydraulic cutting gear to release one of the casualties.
"Hydraulic cutting gear was also used to make a roof flap on the second vehicle, which was on its side, to release the second casualty.
"Both persons were taken to hospital by ambulance and police also attended."
A spokesman for the ambulance service said: "We were called at 1.13am to reports of a road traffic collision.
"We attended with three ambulances, and it was reported three patients were taken to Musgrove Park Hospital."
