GET ready for an art attack, an music and literary overload.

This weekend, Somerfest bursts back into life in Taunton and everyone is invited to come along and watch the fun.

Somerfest is staging an array of performances and activities on Saturday’ June 16, 11am-6pm across the centre of town in Castle Green, Somerset Square, The Brewhouse Theatre, Orchard Centre, Morrisons Band Stand, North St, High Street and Goodland Gardens.

On the Castle Green, the acts include the Avanti Display, The Spurting Man a spectacular water extravaganza. Also Fraser Hooper in Countrylife a comedy family show and Glastonbury favourite.

In Goodland Garden, children’s performer Lavrak Molly’s Wings a girl’s adventures in a dreamland of wonderful creatures told through live music, aerial acrobatics, fire dance, hula hoop and theatre.

Also Joe Garbett Dance Company in Doubles an exciting pop up performance where contemporary dance and Ping Pong combine.

In Somerset Square/Outside the Brewhouse, the return of one of last years favourites Plungeboom with The Allotment.

A Garden Delight. Also Hikapee - To The Moon- a theatrical story told with aerial circus.

And in Fore Street you will find a Garden of Delight a pair of exquisite floral living sculptures plus around all the festival sites Josie & Roy a pair of elegantly dressed and exquisitely coiffed roaming acrobatics performed with spectacle, surprise and soul.

This year, Somerfest celebrates Taunton’s status as a Garden Town and the 250th founding of Circus in UK.

Fuseperformance has created an exciting programme of live music, outdoor spectacle, theatre, dance, sports, arts, circus, acrobatics and aerial trapeze.

There will be free shows and family activities with something for everyone.

Somerfest is commissioned by Taunton Deane Borough Council and is also supported by local businesses and charities including The Brewhouse Theatre,Orchard Centre, Morrisons, AmicusLaw and Viridor.

Local businesses have also been extremely helpful offering support.
