THE mouse in The Gruffalo’s Child is similar to the legendary criminal Keyser Soze in the film the Usual Suspects.

The character of Verbal Kint in the Oscar winning film says: “He becomes a myth, a spook story that criminals tell their kids at night. “Rat on your pop and Keyser Soze will get you.” But no one ever really believes…. Keaton always said, “I don’t believe in God, but I’m afraid of him.” Well, I believe in God and the only thing that scares me is Keyser Soze.”

This is similar to the mouse, as the Gruffalo tells his child not to venture out into the world as the mouse will get her.

The child ignores her dad’s warning and tip toes out into the snow. After all, the Big Bad Mouse doesn’t really exist...does he?

The actress who play the mouse certainly exists and her name is Georgia Wall who graduated from drama school in July 2017.

This part as the mouse in The Gruffalo’s Child is her first job on the circuit where she is travelling around the country going to different theatres.

She said: “I am loving it (playing the mouse) as it is really a great character.

“The story is all about curiosity, imagination and bravery. All these have been put together in a story with a moral which is sometime brain triumphs over brawn.”

As the story is connected with being brave, what does Georgia think being brave should be?

She said: “I think I am probably a shy person really but sometimes I have to take a risk and be brave.

"There are things in life you have to do or you will regret it.

“What I am doing acting, is something I love and when I used to go and watch a show I was inspired due to the effect it had on an audience and I wanted to do that as well.

“I love the spark of imagination and would say anything is possible if you want something badly enough The Gruffalo’s Child is at the Brewhouse Theatre in Taunton from June 7-9.
