MORE than 200 people turned out for a special event filled with activities at Robert Blake Science College.

Held in partnership with Homes in Sedgemoor, the event included 'Nerf wars', climbing, recreational activities, face painting and balloon making.

On top of this there were performances from dancers, actors and singers as well as a tombola and refreshments put on by the school's PTA.

Taking place on Wednesday, May 16, the event involved much generosity from organisations such as Rhode Lane Wanderers, the YMCA, 1610 and Bounce Monkey's.

A spokesperson for Robert Blake Science College said: "There was a wonderful sense of community.

"The event was put on to make people aware of all the wonderful opportunities which exist on our doorstep for young people and families."

Robert Blake Science College wants to continue to engage with organisations from the local community.

"These organisations work so hard to provide opportunities for others, and the desire to support promotion of social and healthy opportunities within the community is such a worthwhile incentive," the spokesperson added.
